What is a resin driveway?

resin-bound driveway is slip-resistant permeable decorative paving system, it can last for many years if the right products are used and is installed correctly. Resin driveways are fully permeable which allows water to freely drain through the surface, this helps for sustainability and prevents standing water and avoids surface water runoff.

The process of installing your resin driveway

We try and make your resin driveway installation as smooth as possible for you. Once your booking day arrives, here is our step by step process:

  1.  Excavate your existing driveway/garden area and dispose of all waste off site.
  2. Lay a new crushed limestone sub-base at a depth of 200mm. Think of your sub-base as the body of your drive keeping all its ligaments together. It is vital the sub-base is not only a good depth but also made up with the correct material. We always use limestone rather than sandstone for the simple reason that it is stronger and therefore means will last for longer.
  3. All edgings and drainage where required are installed.
  4. The sub-base is rolled and levelled out and a porous layer of tarmac is laid to the full area at a depth of 80mm.
  5.  Your resin topcoat is ready to be laid. The resin is laid by hand at a depth of 15-20mm, however we do use tools to aid us in achieving a super smooth finish.
